The nest is warm and cozy, and "Willy" feels safe for now. He will spend up to 35 days in the nest before leaving.  But often the "dream to fly" has babies jumping before they can fly well.  "Willy" can spend a few weeks on the ground hopping and learning to truly fly - and his parents and "family group" will continue to feed and protect him. "Willy" will typically stay with his parents for up to two years, to learn crucial life skills.  However, after the initial period of being fed by his parents he may choose to stay, to help raise the next generation of babies by feeding the new fledglings.  Hand painted watercolor painting.  All paintings arrive with temporary matting and stock frames, to protect them during shipping.
