"The Conversation" begins each evening as the light begins to fade, and before crows gather in large communal roosts.  The roosts provide warmth, protection from predators, an opportunity to share  knowledge about food sources for the next day, and a chance to find a mate.  Sleeping in large groups means there are more crows to help out and provide flock safety.  Once settled, the crows generally sleep through the night - unless they are disturbed.  Hand painted watercolor painting.  All paintings arrive with temporary matting and stock frames, to protect them during shipping.
