"Soft Landing" Crow - Hand Painted 8.5" x 10" Watercolor + US Tax
$87.00
The "Soft Landing" Crow is ready to rest and coming in for a landing. While foraging for food or moving between roosts, his daily flights occur within a few hundred feet off the ground. During migrations he may climb to heights of 1,300 to 2,600 feet above ground, to take advantage of prevailing winds. His lung capacity and flying style (flapping versus soaring like larger birds) make flights of 7,000 feet above ground his upper flight ceiling - and he experiences a lack of oxygen at the higher altitudes. Unlike his cousin the Raven who often soars and is a high-altitude flier, Ravens have been recorded flying at elevations over 20,000 feet.
